Summer Nature Series for Tots

August 12 to August 22
10 -11:30 a.m.
Wednesdays at the Wallenpaupack Environmental Learning Center
Saturdays at Lacawac Sanctuary

Children and adults are invited to explore our natural world together. This series focuses on connecting to nature using our senses and taking a closer look at critters in the wild. Join us and our partnering conservations organizations for these programs geared towards children ages 2-4 and an adult. Registration is limited. Full program descriptions available after Earth Day at lacawac.org and on Facebook.

$10 per program; all 4 for $35.
Members discount: $5 per program or all 4 for $20.
Max out registration at 15 children for the series. NOTE: No prepayment available for individual programs.

Wed., Aug. 12 @ Wallenpaupack: Butterfly gardens


                Let’s go on a scavenger hunt! We’ll take a stroll through the Butterfly Garden near the Wallenpaupack Dam. Insects love this garden! Will we find any butterflies? A craft and a snack are included.

 

Sat., Aug. 15 @ Lacawac: Seed stories

                Let’s take a closer look in the Native Plant Garden at Lacawac Sanctuary. We’ll discover how flowers and trees grow. What else will we find? Join us on this adventure! A craft and a snack are included.

 

Wed., Aug. 19 @ Wallenpaupack: Whistling winds

                Did you feel that? The wind blows through the trees, it blows leaves, it blows through our hair, it is everywhere! We’ll find ways to play with the wind in nature. A craft and a snack are included.

 

Sat., Aug. 22 @ Lacawac: Beaver tales

                Who chopped down those trees? Our beaver friend is busy at Heron Pond cutting, eating and building. Let’s go see what these water-loving rodents are up to today! A craft and a snack are included.
